Anthony Bloom
Anthony Bloom (Metropolitan Anthony of Sourozh) was head of the Russian Orthodox Church in Britain for many years. He grew up in France and Britain, and practised as a doctor before his ordination. His writings have always shown great psychological awareness, as well as an understanding of British culture. His most recent collection, on confession and forgiveness, was published after his death by SPCK in 2009, under the title Coming Closer to Christ.
