Cally Hammond
The Revd Dr Cally Hammond is the author of Joyful Christianity: Finding Jesus in the world (SPCK 2009) and Passionate Christianity: A journey to the cross (SPCK 2007). Cally is the Dean of Gonville and Caius College, Cambridge. She began her academic life as a Classicist, first at Oxford and then at Cambridge, where her research on the Roman historians taught her the value of stories and narratives as a way of communicating truths and beliefs. This has stood her in good stead when thinking about the Gospels and the early Church. As well as working in academic life in Oxford and Cambridge, she spent seven years in full-time ministry in rural parishes in the diocese of Ely.
