D. Densil Morgan has held a personal chair at Bangor University since 2005. Basically a church historian, he has an abiding interest in systematic theology especially that of the nineteenth-century Reformed tradition, and the contribution of Karl Barth. His most extensive work has been on religion and society in his native Wales where he has published a variety of volumes, some in English and others in Welsh. As an ordained Baptist minister he is also involved in ministerial formation, and serves as the Warden of the Coleg Gwyn, the North Wales Baptist College. Along with his colleague Robert Pope, he has initiated a project on Nonconformity and the Dissenting tradition which is due to reach fruition in 2012. His wife, Ann, is a teacher. They have two children and two grandchildren.
