Gary M. Burge, Ph.D. (Aberdeen University), is the author of Jesus and the Land: The New Testament challenge to ‘Holy Land’ theology (SPCK, 2010).

Gary is Professor of New Testament at Wheaton College and Graduate School in Chicago, Illinois. His books include The Anointed Community: The Holy Spirit in the Johannine tradition, Interpreting the Gospel of John, the NIV Application Commentary on the Letters of John, and the NIV Application Commentary on the Gospel of John; and most recently The New Testament in Antiquity: A textbook for students (with G. Green and L. Cohick), The Bible and the Land and Jesus the Middle Eastern Story Teller. He is active as a speaker and a writer evaluating Christian Zionism within the evangelical world and his books on this topic include Who Are God’s People in the Middle East? and Whose Land? Whose Promise?
