John Barton
John Barton is Oriel and Laing Professor of the Interpretation of Holy Scripture at the University of Oxford. He is the author of What is the Bible? (SPCK, 3rd edn 2009), The Original Story: God, Israel and the world, The Cambridge Companion to Biblical Interpretation, The Nature of Biblical Criticism and Ethics and the Old Testament and the joint editor (with John Muddiman) of The Oxford Bible Commentary.
