Mario Aguilar
Mario I. Aguilar is the author of Contemplating God, Changing the World (SPCK, 2008). Mario is Professor of Divinity (Religion and Politics) at the University of St Andrews, Scotland, and Director of their Centre for the Study of Religion and Politics.
He was born in Chile and arrived in Europe after being involved in Christian communities that suffered because of their support for the poor, and their challenge to violence, torture and political oppression. He is the author of many books, including The History and Politics of Latin American Theology (3 vols) and A Social History of the Catholic Church in Chile (9 vols).
