Mary C. Grey
Mary C. Grey is an Ecofeminist liberation theologian and writer and has held Chairs of Theology in Nijmegen in The Netherlands, Southampton and Wales (Lampeter). She is now Professorial Research Fellow at St Mary’s University College, Twickenham in the UK.
For 10 years Mary edited the Journal Ecotheology and she is keen to nourish Christian thinking in this area. Her theology focuses on peace and reconciliation in different areas and she is excited to be part of a new venture, InSpiRe, at St Mary’s. InSpiRe is an acronym for Centre for Initiatives in Reconciliation and Spirituality (see here).
Mary is also a founding trustee of the charity Wells for India, which works for water security in the desert state of Rajasthan, north-west India, and patron of the Dalit Solidarity Network UK. The eradication of caste discrimination both in India and in the UK has been a special focus and is part of the work of reconciliation. She also chairs the theology group of Friends of Sabeel UK, an organization for the liberation of Christians in Palestine – another focus of InSpiRe.
With any free time she loves to walk the downs and hills of Hampshire – or anywhere! And she can’t keep away from the sea!
