Philip Jenkins

Philip Jenkins is the author of Jesus Wars: How four patriarchs, three queens, and two emperors decided what Christians would believe for the next 1,500 years (SPCK 2010). Philip is one of the world’s foremost scholars of religion. He has a joint appointment as the Edwin Erle Sparks Professor of the Humanities in History and Religious Studies at Penn State University and the Distinguisged Senior Fellow of the Institute for Studies of Religion at Baylor University.

He is the author of over twenty other books including The Lost History of Christianity: The Thousand Year Golden Age of the Church in the Middle East, Africa and Asia (HarperOne/Lion 2009) and The Next Christendom: The Coming of Global Christianity (OUP rev. ed. 2007) and The New Faces of Christianity: Believing the Bible in the Global South (OUP 2006).
